Mother Language Instruction

Thursday was International Mother Language Day, celebrated by UNESCO, and also marking the start of the International Year of Languages. Here in Sweden the day was celebrated in several places, especially by those involved in Mother Tongue Education, programs to help kids who speak a language other than Swedish at home.

George Wood talked to Joan Hedenklint, a Mother Language teacher in the Stockholm island suburb of Lidingö:
