Protest against the Erdogan visit

Talks and Protests During Turkish Official Visit

This week’s visit of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Stockholm has inspired top level talks, meeting with parliamentarians and some of the large Turkish community here  - with hopes for continued Swedish support for future European Union membership for Turkey.

There are also demonstrations against what critics see as Ankara’s unwillingness to recognize dark periods of Turkish history and the treatment of Kurds and other minorities.

Bill Schiller talked to Green Party MP Mehmet Kaplan, who has Turkish roots, about the visit.
