Controversy Over Official Visit to China

Published måndag 7 april 2008 kl 14.39
Chinese President Hu Jintao met Fredrik Reinfeldt on an official visit to Sweden last year

With concern over Beijing’s human rights record increasing as the Summer Olympics draw closer, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt is being confronted with calls to take up the human rights issue during his upcoming visit to China

Opposition Social Democrat leader Mona Sahlin says the trip would be useless if Reinfeldt does not speak openly about the violation of human rights in China.
