New Accusations of Conflict of Interest

Swedish Radio’s P3 News reports that the judge in the Pirate Bay trial has been formally accused of a conflict of interest in another case.

After four people linked to the Pirate Bay were found guilty of aiding copyright infringements, P3 News reported that Judge Tomas Norström worked together with advocates for the entertainment industry in the Pirate Bay trial in several organizations involved in copyright protection.

Now comes a report of an earlier case in which Norström was involved regarding a company that was found guilty of selling auto parts that were too similar to those made by BMW. The auto maker’s lawyer was also reportedly involved in the same organizations as the judge.
