Iraqi Tank Driver Granted Asylum In Sweden

An Iraqi man who worked as a tank driver for the US military during the war in Iraq has been granted asylum in Sweden.

The man fled to Sweden in 2007 after receiving death threats in his home country but then had his application for asylum turned down by the Swedish Migration Board which didn't believe his story.

The decision was overturned on appeal with the court deciding that other Iraqis who'd worked for the US military had also told of of threats to their safety.
