Consumer Confidence Increases

A new Economic Tendency Survey reports an improvement in economic confidence levels among both consumers and businesses.

The monthly survey, released by the National Institute of Economic Research on Wednesday, indicates that the financial crisis may have reached its climax.

Consumer confidence levels jumped ten points last month, making it the biggest monthly increase since February 1993. Moreover, for the first time in two years, confidence indicators in the business world increased two months in a row. (ln)
