NCC Price-fixing Fine Increased

The Swedish Market Court has delivered its verdict in the appeal of the so-called “asphalt cartel” case.

The NCC building company has received a fine of around 25 million dollars, that’s about 6 million dollars more than the original district court sentence. The Peab company has been fined around 10 million dollars, slightly less than the district court sentence. Another company also saw its fine lowered.

Altogether nine companies were accused of price-fixing in the asphalt market. The Market Court acquitted one, Svenska Väg, completely.

The court’s ruling cannot be appealed.
