Swedish, Finnish Divers Find Soviet Sub

Divers from Sweden and Finland's Swedish-speaking Åland islands have discovered the wreck of a WWII Soviet submarine in the Åland waters - after a 10-year-search.

Swedish naval archives claim the S 2 submarine sank with its 50-man crew after hitting Swedish mines in Swedish waters, while Finland has been insisting this took place in Finnish waters.

Press reports from Moscow maintain that Russia places major importance on the discovery and is asking the Swedish and Finnish authorities about the fate of the wreck.
