Fatalities in Midsummer Traffic

At least six people in Sweden have lost their lives in Midsummer weekend traffic.

Two 17 year olds died in separate accidents in Gotland and Värmland, the latter following a collision with a moose. A 57 year old woman died after being run over on a sidewalk in Åmål.

A number of people have been injured in traffic accidents during the long weekend. On the average between seven and eight people are killed in Midsummer traffic every year in Sweden, and around one hundred are injured.
