The idea of switching to the single currency, the Euro, is gaining popularity in Sweden, according to the latest figures from Statistics Sweden.
If there had been a referendum in May this year, 43 % of Swedes would have voted against the Euro and 42 % in favour. More men are generally in favour of the Euro. 47 % of the men said they would vote in favour, compared to 37 % of the women. More women than men also said they felt unsure about it.
The differences between those against and those in favour have not been this small since the referendum in 2003. Also, according to Statistics Sweden 56 % of all Swedes are in favour of EU Membership.
