South Korean President to Sweden

Business, climate and world politics will be high on the agenda when South Korea’s president Lee Myung-bak and Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt meet on Monday.

During the South Korean visit, which starts this weekend, the president will also meet with the Swedish Royal family and with the Speaker of the Parliament.

One of the reasons behind the visit is that this year marks the 50 year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sweden and South Korea.Another reason is Sweden’s EU presidency.

The talks between the Swedish Prime Minister and the South Korean president are expected to centre on issues discussed at the recent G8 summit, which both attended. North Korea and recent events in the region will also be high on the agenda during the meeting, according to Swedish News Agency TT.
