Stockholm Programme On The Agenda

Published onsdag 15 juli 2009 kl 15.46
Justice Minister Beatrice Ask

It's called the Stockholm Programme, and it is intended to function as the European Union's road map on a common strategy to deal with among other things cross-border crime, migration and other related issues. But will a deal on the Programme be clinched during the Swedish presidency? As the presidency gathers momentum, the Swedish government says it is determined to see the implementation of the road map and the first discussion on the Stockholm Programme will start at the justice and home affairs ministerial meeting over the next couple of days.

Ministers Beatrice Ask and Tobias Billström are hopeful.
