Majority Supports Swedish Troops

More than half of Swedes agree with the government’s decision to send soldiers to Afghanistan, a new poll by Novus Opinion reveals.

Support for the Swedish presence in Afghanistan is greatest among men and conservative voters.

63% of men think sending Swedish troops to the country is a good idea, compared to 35% of women. Likewise, 67% of conservative voters support the troops’ presence, while only 41% of socialist bloc voters do.
