Lack of Safety at Nuclear Plant

The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority has criticized the operators of the nuclear power plant of Forsmark for doing too little to ensure the safety of the plant. Daily Uppsala Nya Tidning quotes a report of the authority as saying that the operators have failed to develop tools to monitor their own safety measures.

The operators, Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB, are being told to rectify the failures by the end of this year. Forsmark's nuclear plant gained international attention when it came close to a nuclear meltdown in 2006. Since then, there have been several reports on lacks of safety routines at the plant.
