"Arctic Fox" Trek Kicks Off

Today about 2,000 people of 21 nations will begin a 110-kilometer trek in the Swedish mountains near the Arctic Circle, according to the Swedish Tourist Organization. In the trek, which translates to "The Arctic Fox Classic, participants will walk from Nikkaloukta and the STF Abisko Tourist Station.

The fastest hikers will reach the final destination in 14 hours, but it will take most people 3 to 5 days to finish. It is the fifth annual trek, and individuals as well as teams representing companies, will venture into the wild.

In the trek generations meet in a desire for a health kick and to enjoy nature, representatives of Fjällräven say.
