Swedmilk Faces Fraud Charges

Swedish dairy company Swedmilk is facing fraud charges in Macedonia after it went bankrupt in March. A formal charge has not been brought into action yet. Swedish Radio reports that Macedonian authorities suspect several members of Swedmilk’s management of counterfeiting company documents.

One of the suspected is a Swedish national. Since the bankruptcy of the firm some 2,000 Macedonian dairy farmers are waiting for their milk deliveries to be paid for. Swedmilk is being financed by money from the Swedish development assistance budget.
