EU Leaders Reach Climate Aid Agreement

EU leaders at a meeting chaired by Swedish prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt have reached an agreement on the much discussed climate change fund.

The deal followed a new proposal on Friday that would let poorer eastern members pay less into a climate change aid fund than the bloc's leading countries.

The member states also supported the estimate of 100 billion Euro annually from 2020 needed for the developing countries to carry through the measures needed and that the share which falls upon the developed world will make up 22 to 55 billion Euros of that sum.

At Friday's meeting the Eu promised to take on a reasonable share of that.
