It's back to the drawing board for the Swedish FA

Hamrén To Stay At Rosenborg

The search for a coach of Sweden's national side continues after the Swedish football association's target Erik Hamrén was not allowed to leave his post in charge of Norwegian champions Rosenborg.

On the Football Association's website, Chairman Lars-Åke Lagrell who travelled to Norway to meet Hamrén last week, wrote that Rosenborg and the Swedish FA were poles apart in terms when it came to the club releasing the Swede from his contract.

Hamrén had said last week that he was interested in the Swedish national job.

It's a big disappointment for Lagrell who's already been turned down by first choice Sven Göran Ericsson and Hans Backe.

The hunt continues for the successor to Lars Lagerbäck who resigned following Sweden's failure to qualify for next Summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.
