Paracetamol Soon in a Store Near You

After a slow start, prescription free drugs such as paracetamol and cough syrup, are now beginning to appear behind the counters in petrol stations and super markets.

From the 1st of November it became legal for shops to sell 540 drugs that previously has only been on sale in the state run pharmacy Apoteket. But the rules that regulate the selling of these drugs was only decided on in the end of October, so very few managed to start on time.

However, on Friday, 320 companies had applied for a licence to sell the drugs, and super market giants such as Coop and ICA are now reported to be ready to launch the drugs in their stores.
