A highly placed local politician in the Stockholm area has been fined for trying to buy sex from an under aged girl.

The man, who amongst other tasks is responsible for child-and education issues in the municipality, has said that he will be leaving his post before the year is out.  In the Swedish newspaper Metro on Tuesday, the man stated that he had found an Internet site which advertised sexual meetings and group sex activities and had thought it might be “interesting to give it a go”.

“I got into contact with a man who came to my house with a girl in the middle of the day. I paid for her but never realised she was under age”, the man said to Metro.

According to the politician he changed his mind and didn’t sleep with the girl after all. But the Police say that when heard, the girl has stated that sexual intercourse did occur.

Members of the local authorities, as well as the party which the politician belongs to, are now urging him to leave his duties immediately.
