Wounded Swede on Way Home

Updated 2:05 PM

One of the two Swedish soldiers seriously wounded in Afghanistan earlier this week has arrived back in this country for treatment. His plane landed Friday and he has been taken to Uppsala University Hospital.

Another plane is on its way to Afghanistan and may bring home the Swedish soldier who was worst injured when their light armoured vehicle drove over a homemade bomb. However, the Swedish military says it is still uncertain whether his injuries permit transport home.

An Afghan interpreter was killed in the attack, and 3 other Swedes were slightly hurt.
