Green Leader Going to Copenhagen Anyway

Updated 11:44 AM

Sweden’s three opposition parties have called on the government for inclusion in the Swedish delegation to the Copenhagen climate summit, and in the selection of the next Swedish EU Commissioner.

In an open letter to Prime Minister Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, they strongly criticize the government’s reversal of its original plan to include Green Party co-leader Maria Wetterstrand in the official Copenhagen delegation. The three parties say the government’s abandonment of its agreement is inconsistent with its expressed position that the Swedish EU presidency should do everything possible to reach positive and clear results at the climate summit.

Maria Wetterstrand now tells Swedish Radio’s Finnish Service, Radio Sisu, that’s she is going to Copenhagen anyway.
