Broadband Internet access continues to increase in Sweden. According to a new report from the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency, broadband connections were up by 17 percent during the past year.
Altogether 73 percent of Swedish households have broadband. ADSL connections over telephone lines are the most common, but have dropped slightly. Instead more and more Swedes are now relying on mobile broadband, with 11 percent. That’s more than twice as many as last year.
Telephone over the Internet increased by 32 percent in the past year, while the use of traditional landlines declined slightly. Ninety-seven percent of Swedes have mobile phones.
