Swedish Moslem agents for peace are in Brussels, to present their project to EU decision-makers.
The goal is to encourage an Islamic culture of peace. Behind the project is the idea that contrary to all the preconceptions since the September 11th attacks, Islam is a peaceful culture. But this insight seems to be hard to find in Europe, where tensions between Moslems and non-Moslems have increased in recent years.
Those behind the project say it is more and more important for young Swedish Moslems to respond to negative feelings about Islam and to strengthen the positive image of their religion.
