GM May End Talks With Spyker Over Saab

General Motors could be on the verge of calling off talks with Spyker over the sale of Saab, Bloomberg News writes. GM may not be able to complete due diligence by its board’s deadline of December 31, which would in turn lead to Saab being shut down.

A number of companies have expressed interest in buying Saab over the last few months, most notably the Koeningsegg Group, which backed out in November. Spyker emerged as a prospective buyer last weekend after negotiations with GM held in Zürich, Bloomberg News reports.

A Saab shutdown would hit the city of Trollhättan especially hard, where the Swedish car giant has its base.
