Storkyrkan in Stockholm

Royal Wedding Church to get Makeover

The church where Sweden's crown princess Victoria will be married this Summer is to be closed for five months for cleaning and renovation work ahead of the big day.

The work taking place at Storkyrkan in Stockholm's old town is the first of its kind in 50 years and will cost 14 million Swedish crowns (1.9 million US dollars.)

The church will open again on May 2nd, over a month before the wedding of crown princess Victoria and Daniel Westling.
