One of Sweden’s foremost hopes in the upcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver may be injured. Downhill skier Anja Pärson was forced out of a World Cup slalom in Austria on Tuesday after hurting her left knee.
The 2004 and 2005 World Cup winner was treated on the side of the piste, but the extent of her injury was not immediately known. Pärson had shown a return to form recently, finishing second in World Cup downhill and super-G events.
She won the slalom gold and two bronze medals at the Turin Winter games and is hoping to defend her title in Vancouver next month.
