Spyker Wrap Up Deal for Saab

Swedish Television News "Rapport" says that the Dutch luxury car maker Spyker is buying Saab off General Motors, after the two parties finally reached a deal. Rapport says the European Investment Bank has given the go ahead for a loan.

However a representative at the EIB told TT news that no such decision has been reached. Speculation has been rife since Sunday evening that a deal was close to being reached with an announcement sometime on Monday. Reports suggested that Spyker had received extra funding from a new investor which appealed to Saab owners General Motors. Representatives from Spyker, the government and GM have been in talks in Stockholm.
