"The speculations that a network of well known and well situated people has been uncovered by the investigation is wrong," Trolle said, stressing that they are only investigating one person.
The man was remanded in custody on Thursday. Before his arrest earlier in the week, some 25 policemen and women had been working with his case for two months. The investigation is expected to take some time before it is finished.
The case has attracted a lot of attention, due to the man's position in the police service. Not only had he been police commissioner, he had also been the headmaster of the police academy in Stockholm for 8 years. In addition, he was actively involved in work for women's rights and against sexual harassment.
The man denies the charges.
