Two-time World Cup champion, Anja Pärson, fell in the final stage of the women’s downhill event in Whistler on Wednesday.
When the fall occurred, she was in second place and set to take a silver medal for Sweden. The final jump of the downhill run sent a number of skiers father than expected and Pärson flew over 60 metres before landing and suffering bruising and muscle strain.
Pärson told Swedish Radio news that she cannot say yet whether she will be fit to compete in Thursday’s super combined alpine skiing race. A decision is expected to come just a few hours before the event.
