Swedes and Canadians Love Ice Hockey

Swedes share a passion for ice hockey with the Canadians  – also a people noted for being like the Swedes as rather reserved, not prone to boasting, and loving nature.

For Canadians, the Winter Olympics in Vancouver may have started last Friday, but it only really began in earnest on Tuesday this week when the first puck was struck over the ice in the men's hockey competition, a competition of course in which Sweden are reigning Olympic champions.

Radio Sweden asks hockey-loving Dave White – presenter of the afternoon show at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Whitehorse, Yukon – what his countrymen think of the sport:
