Women's Curling Crushed by Russia

The Swedish women’s curling team made a disappointing outing on Saturday, posting a crushing 1-10 loss against Russia. But Anette Norberg, skipper of the Swedish team, told Swedish Radio Sports that it’s not unusual for a strong team to lose so suddenly.

“That’s just how the sport is,” Norberg said, whose team started the Olympics with four straight wins.

The reigning Olympic champions will now meet the United States on Sunday for their next match.

The Swedish men’s curling team did not have better luck than their women counterparts. They lost 4-5 to France on Saturday, posting their fourth straight loss in the tournament.
