Warmer Weather adds to Travel Misery

A drastic rise in temperatures brought flooding to many roads in areas of Sweden on Friday.

Southern Sweden in particular was affected by rain and temperatures rising above freezing , melting snow and leaving many roads resembling boating lakes.

Other areas were hit by freezing rain causing cars and trucks to skid off roads.

In Stockholm rising temperatures meant several people were injured by falling snow and ice from apartment buildings.

However despite the warmer temperatures there's no end in sight to the misery with more snow expected over the weekend bringing chaos to the roads with many families also travelling to the mountains for the school holidays, and thousands of others taking part in cross country skiing competitions in central Sweden.
