Swedish Women Win Olympic Curling Gold

Sweden’s women’s curling team has won gold in the nearly finished winter Olympics in Vancouver after a dramatic 7-6 match with Canada.

The team of Annette Norberg, Eva Lund, Cathrine Lindahl and Anna Le Moine were first lagging behind with 4-6 before making a come-back.

Team leader Norborg says she thought winning Olympic gold in Turin was the most dramatic moment of her sports career but that the victory in Canada now was an “explosion.”

A number of other Swedish medal hopefuls in the latest competitions have come in fourth or further down the list.
