Swedish Arenas Can't Tackle Heart Problems

Published fredag 5 mars 2010 kl 12.35
Don't get too excited..

Swedish football arenas are among the worst in Europe when it comes to preparedness for treating spectators who get a heart attack. Only Greece and Serbia are below Sweden in the league, according to an article published in the European Heart Journal.

The risk of a heart attack increases in very stressful and emotional situations, which of course happen a lot at football matches. Still over half of the 21 Swedish football arenas that were included in the study, have no automatic defibrillators available. That can be compared to Norway and Italy, where all the arenas had such equipment.
