Several Schools Threatened

Several schools had to take precautions after they received threats by pupils or unknown persons. A school in Västervik had to close on Tuesday while other schools in Borås and Piteå were forced to take minor secutity actions due to threats.

One former pupil was arrested. According to the police all the threats are being taken seriously as the memories of school massacres in neighboring Finland in the past years are still vivid. But the police also say that the latest threat against the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm might have had a knock-on effect. During the weekend, a man in his 30ies was arrested after he threatened to shoot students of the Institute.
