Stockholm Discussion of Rainbow Rights

The Swedish International Development Agency known as SIDA has called in counter parts from the Netherlands and other countries who earmark some of the foreign assistance for human rights – including the rights for gays, lesbians, bisexual and trans  – or LGBT persons.

Speaking with RS’s Jenny Hallberg,  Lisa Frederiksson who is the head of the SIDA human rights team, explains that Sweden considers such aid as anti-poverty assistance – since poverty is not just a question of money but of being discriminated, isolated and denied one’s rights.
