Set for a strike?

Talks Aimed at Averting Easter Strike

Updated: 10:20 am

A decision is expected later on Monday on whether or not there'll be a strike in Sweden’s retail industry over Easter.

The employers organisation Svensk Handel is holding a news conference at 11 am.

Negotiations between the retail union Handelsanställdas Förbund and Svensk Handel collapsed at the weekend. According to the head of the retail union, Lars-Anders Häggström, both partners were unable to reach an agreement despite six weeks of negotiations.

The head of the retail employers pointed out that the collapse of the negotiations was due to the fact that no binding tariff agreements have been reached for the entire industry.
