“Better Outlook for State Finances”

Sweden’s state budget is set for a recovery, Ekonomistyrningsverket, an authority that belongs to the government’s finance department, writes in a new report. In a press release which was released on Tuesday, the authority comes to the conclusion that “the outlook for the central government budget and public finances is favorable.”

Generally strong finances alongside the economic recovery would almost bring balance as early as next year. The authority goes on to forecast that substantial surpluses can be expected further ahead. “Central government debt will amount to 25% of GDP in 2014, its lowest level since the mid-1970s.”
