Turkish Ambassador Returns

Turkey’s ambassador is returning to Stockholm, despite the vote by the Swedish parliament recognizing the killing of Armenians in 1915 as genocide.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told CNN-Turk that ambassador Zerün Korutürk would be taking up her job again this week or next. The ambassador was recalled to Ankara after the Swedish parliament narrowly voted against the government position on the issue on March 15th.

Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has apologized to Turkey, a move his Turkish counterpart has called “very positive”.
