Sweden to Build Afghan Orphanage

The Swedish government wants to build an orphanage in Afghanistan, as a home for unaccompanied children who seek asylum here.

Last year more than 2000 children under the age of 18 arrived in Sweden as refugees, without parents.

The newspaper “Sydsvenska Dagbladet” writes that the government wants to send them back to their homelands, where they would be able to live in housing funded by Sweden.

Migration Tobias Billström tells the newspaper that the important thing is that this would make it easier to reunite them with their parents.
