Employers Group Withdraws from Agreement

The Association of Swedish Engineering Industries has pulled out of a collective bargaining agreement with trade unions, which have been used to set wage levels in Sweden since the late 90s.

The group's CEO, Anders Narvinger, said that partners from other industries have not respected their role as a standard setter in this year's turbulent wage increase-negotiations, reports news agency TT.

As the largest employers group in the country, the Engineering Industries association has played a major role in setting wage levels in Swedish industry, for more than a decade.
