New Ash Cloud Reaches Sweden, Disrupts Flights

Ash hailing from Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull began disrupting flights in southern and western parts of Sweden on Monday. A thin layer of ash has entered the area and unsettled flight paths, although a full closure of the airspace has not been announced.

Rather, planes will have to seek special permission to fly over the area.

The ash cloud drifted towards continental Europe from the British Isles on Sunday night, leading to airport closures in Great Britain and the Netherlands.
