Norwegian Shoppers Invade Sweden

Four out of ten Norwegians have gone shopping in Sweden over the last three months, according to a new study by Sweden's Retail Institute, HUI.

The reason? The cheaper prices across the border. On average the Norwegians spend almost 400 dollars each in Swedish shops.

Taking a trip to Sweden to go shopping is most popular, unsurprisingly, in south-east Norway, closer to Swedish towns such as Strömstad and Gothenburg. 55% of residents in that region have gone shopping in Sweden over the past 12 weeks, reports Swedish news agency TT.
