Pirate Bay Appeal Fails

The court order that forced the Pirate Bay's Internet operator to close the site has been upheld by a Swedish appeals court, at least until the case has run its course. The Internet service provider Black Media will not be allowed to deliver broadband to the Pirate Bay servers.

The Pirate Bay’s appeal against the conviction is due to begin in September, but now the file-sharing site has turned to the European Court of Justice to rule on whether some of the appeals court judges should be disqualified because of a conflict of interest. The Swedish Supreme Court ruled last week that they are not.
