More Living Donors Transplants?

Swedish doctors say more transplants from living donors are needed to save lives - and to counter act the diminishing number of people here donating organs after their deaths.

The doctors maintain that a careful search for the right donor and the transplantation of only a small amount of liver tissue can save the life of a patient.

The doctors argue that only 66 transplants from living donors have taken place in this Nordic nation in the last 14 years - and add that these kinds of operations should be increased.
