Riksdag: No to EU Finance Proposals

The Swedish parliament rejected two proposals from the European Union Commission on Thursday.

News agency TT reports that the Commission had proposed that all EU members be obliged to loan money to member countries who cannot meet their responsibilities when it comes to making good on deposit insurance and investor protection.

Parliament warned that certain countries might be tempted to under-finance these two financial protections, if they know they can rely on the other EU members to bail them out.
