"You can't pee on command," a relative of one of the residents told the newspaper. The home has assigned her husband six time slots daily during which he can visit the bathroom, beginning when he wakes up in the morning and ending when he goes to bed. For example, he can relieve himself at 2:45 p.m., then at 5 p.m., et cetera.
Ewa Lundgren, a unit chief at Slottsgården home, said the test is not aimed to save money. Rather, it aims to "enhance the quality of life for the caretaker," she said.
