Toxic algae in waters around Stockholm

Swedish authorities are cautioning the public to exercise caution around Lake Mälaren and Stockholm's inner archipelago, where a late crop of poisonous blue-green algae has bloomed.

The Board of Stockholm County warns people to keep small children and dogs away from the water, reports news agency TT. For dogs, drinking water contaminated by the toxic algae can be fatal.
