A two-year old boy was kidnapped and held hostage by a man armed with a knife in the southern Swedish city of Malmö Monday evening, but the incident ended without harm when police burst in using stun grenades.

The 58-year old grabbed the child from the street and locked himself into the local customs building. Police say he didn't lay forth any demands for the release of the child, not was he under the influence of drink or drugs. After two hours negotiations the police negotiator distracted him, and a police team raided the building, throwing in stun grenades and grabbing the little boy.

The boy was taken to the local hospital for a check-up, while the man was taken into custody, reports news agency TT.
